The T20I tri-series final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka witnessed a massive controversy over a catch by Fakhar Zaman on Saturday. During the 19th over of the Sri Lanka innings, Dasun Shanaka was foxed by a slower delivery by Shaheen Afridi and Zaman timed his jump perfectly to complete the catch. However, the third umpire decided that the ball was in touch with the ground when the Pakistan cricketer finished the catch. The Pakistan cricket team players were visibly stunned with Fakhar expressing his displeasure. Just one ball later, Afridi clean bowled Shanaka and both the bowler as well as Zaman mockingly appealed towards the third umpire before resuming their celebration. Arjun Tendulkar Sends Big IPL Message With Brilliant Bowling Performance

Arjun Tendulkar , son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar , took three wickets in four overs as Goa registered a big win over Chandigarh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Friday. Arjun, who was traded to Lucknow Super Giants from Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2026, looked in brilliant form at Eden Gardens. The third dismissal came from a brilliant yorker that crashed into the stumps, leaving the batter stunned. Chasing 174, Chandigarh were bundled out for 121 in 19 overs, with Arjun taking the final catch of the match. He finished with impressive figures of 4-0-17-3, a performance that left both fans and experts impressed. UP Man Thrashes Wife, Leaves Home. Then She Video Calls Him, Hangs Herself

What started as a love story ended in a tragedy in Uttar Pradesh. A woman died by suicide during a video call with her husband after a fight between them in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur on Wednesday. The man, Shubham Diwakar, was an alcoholic. When he returned home in the Ramlala Mohalla area of Rawatpur from work on Wednesday evening, he asked his wife, Mona, for money to buy alcohol. When she refused, an enraged Diwakar beat her up brutally. After the assault, he took the money from her and left the house to drink. Sixteen minutes later, a weeping Mona allegedly made a WhatsApp video call to him and hung herself in front of him. Diwakar allegedly rushed home to save her, but the door was locked from the inside. The door was broken down by the police who arrived at the spot after being informed by the neighbours. By then, she had already died. The officials also gave her CPR in an attempt to revive her but to no avail. Mona and Shubham Diwakar had a love marriage seven years ago. Sh...

Engineering Students Arrested In Rs 90-Crore Cyber Scam In Puducherry

Puducherry's Cyber Crime Police have uncovered a large-scale cyber-fraud network allegedly operated from inside an engineering college, turning it into what investigators call a "hotspot for cyber crime." The racket, linked to a Rs 90-crore scam, involved students selling bank accounts of friends and classmates to cyber-criminals who allegedly laundered the money through India before converting it into cryptocurrency via networks in Dubai and China. The case broke after two engineering students, Dinesh and Jayapratap, approached the police when their bank accounts were suddenly frozen. They had handed over their account details to their friend Harish - now an accused - who had allegedly collected details of over 20 bank accounts from students and members of the public. These were used as "mule accounts" to park scam proceeds. Investigators say at least Rs 7 crore was withdrawn through these accounts. Seven persons - including four engineering graduates - have ...

Gill Breaks Silence After Gambhir-Coached India's 408-Run Loss To SA

Skipper Shubman Gill , who missed the second Test due to a neck injury, struck a defiant tone of unity and resolve after India's 0-2 series loss to South Africa, saying the team would "rise stronger" despite the setback. The two-Test series ended in humiliation for India as South Africa completed a clean sweep, defeating the hosts by 408 runs in the second Test at Guwahati -- their first series win on Indian soil in 25 years. South Africa had defeated India in the opening Test in Kolkata by 30 runs. The loss triggered widespread criticism and discussion around the team's performance and leadership with fans booing coach Gautam Gambhir . "Calm seas don't teach you how to steer, it's the storm that forges steady hands. We'll continue to believe in each other, fight for each other, and move forward - rising stronger," Gill wrote in 'X' on Wednesday. Judges Fair, Fearless, Only Follow Constitution: Ex-Chief Justice To NDTV

Justice BR Gavai, the former Chief Justice of India, has told NDTV that while the Indian judiciary is independent, their actions are often seen through the prism of politics. In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Justice Gavai spoke of the judiciary's actions being misinterpreted  and wrong narratives being built around it. The judges, he said, do not decide "by looking at who is the opponent in front of us". "We decide by looking at the case of the opponent in front of us," he said. "So, in some cases, we decide on the side of the government, in some cases, we decide against the government. This does not mean that in every matter, we decide against the government, then only we are independent judges. Otherwise, the judges are biased, the judges are partisan," he added. But this does not mean that the courts take sides or bow under pressure.  "Judges take their oath to be independent. Along with our constitution, our commitment, the oath we ta...

The development was announced following a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on the sidelines of the G20 Leaders' Summit in Johannesburg today. The Canada-India CEPA negotiations began in 2010 and gained momentum in 2022 with enhanced cooperation in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and critical and rare earth minerals, as well as in areas like tourism, urban infrastructure, renewable energy and mining. The talks were suspended by Canada in 2023. According to a statement issued by India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) late Sunday, both sides committed to pursuing an ambitious trade pact aimed at doubling bilateral trade to $50 billion by 2030. The renewed engagement also includes deepening longstanding ci...

'You Have Votes, I Have Funds': Ajit Pawar's 'Threat' To Voters In Malegaon

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar set the cat among the pigeons while campaigning for local elections when he appeared to threaten voters, saying he would release funds he had promised only if all of his party's candidates were elected.  Addressing a rally for the Nagar Panchayat elections at Malegaon in Baramati tehsil on Friday, the NCP chief, who also holds the Finance portfolio, said the party had fielded 18 candidates.  "The Centre and the state have many schemes. The Prime Minister, chief minister and both deputy chief ministers have worked on these together. If all of us work together and implement these schemes properly, we can ensure development for Malegaon," Pawar said.  "I will ensure there is no shortage of funds if you elect all 18 NCP candidates. 'What Are They Smoking?' India A Blasted For Suryavanshi's Super Over Snub

In a baffling turn during the semi-final of the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 in Doha, the management of India A left 14-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi stranded in the dug-out during the Super Over, even after his explosive 38 off 15 in the match proper. The decision saw India A crash out to Bangladesh A without scoring in the tie-breaker, prompting former India pacer Dodda Ganesh to publicly lambast the leadership with a blunt "What are these guys smoking?" reaction on X. How Ukraine Intelligence Used AI Lover, Beer To Nearly Kill Russian Official

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) says it has uncovered a plot to poison a high-ranking Russian officer of the Ministry of Defence in an attack disguised as a gift from an online love interest. According to the FSB , the officer narrowly avoided consuming beer that investigators say had been doctored with a British-made version of nerve agent VX, a substance capable of killing within 20 minutes. The bottles were intercepted before the officer could drink them, and a resident of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) was taken into custody. The officer told Russian media that the chain of events began months earlier, when he met a woman named Polina on an online application. Their exchanges soon shifted to Telegram, where she regularly sent photos and videos of herself. "She sent me photos and videos from the gym several times, all roughly the same. After a few months of our communication, she said she wanted to give me a gift, which she would deliver through a friend...

The FIR states that Anzar urged the boy to embrace ISIS as the "true path of Islam" and sought to cultiva...

Dhanaraj, 24, had a history of violent and criminal behaviour, and his elder brother Shivaraj, 28, was no longer able to tolerate it, the police said. Both are residents of Kalaburagi district. Shivaraj, who drives a cab to make a living, allegedly planned the murder along with his friends Sandeep, 24, and Prashanth, 26. The police said Dhanaraj lived with his parents in their home district. He was involved in multiple thefts, drinking, and frequent fights, the elder brother told the police. Dhanaraj often assaulted his parents and had even attacked his elder brother when questioned about his behaviour. Their neighbours, too, frequently complained about Dhanaraj's thefts, including stealing mobile phones and livestock. Unable to endure continuous harassment at home, Shivaraj reportedly decided to kill his brother. ...

Sarfaraz "Not Even Being Allowed To Fail": Questions Raised On Selectors

Sarfaraz Khan 's long absence from the Indian Test team has raised quite a few eyebrows. Several former players feel that the Mumbai batter, who has not played a Test since November 2024, deserves a chance in the squad. Former India player Aakash Chopra believes Sarfaraz has fallen victim to a perception battle. The 28-year-old has so far played six Tests, scoring 371 runs at an average of 37.10. He has three fifties and one century to his name. "I think there is a clarity issue in the case of Sarfaraz. I think it is a case of perception and understanding. I am trying to think-they might have a perception that he may not do as well in swinging conditions or play fast bowling well. Maybe he is not our guy in SENA countries. So he did not get the chance. But even to make that perception, I have to allow him to fail. He is not even being allowed to fail. And now there is no place in the team as well," Chopra said on Shubhankar Mishra's YouTube channel. The former Indi...

Viral Video Shows How This Scene From Ghajini Was Copied From A French Movie

Aamir Khan and Asin Thottumkal's Ghajini remains one of the most memorable Hindi films of 2008. A remake of the 2005 Tamil hit of the same name starring Suriya, the film itself was loosely inspired by Christopher Nolan's Memento. But beyond the widely known influences, a resurfaced clip has now revealed that one of Ghajini's most iconic moments may have been directly borrowed from another international film, the 2001 French masterpiece Amelie . A scene from Amelie , featuring Audrey Tautou in the titular role, has been circulating online for its striking resemblance to a beloved sequence in Ghajini .  In the French film, Amelie tenderly helps a blind man cross a busy street, narrating the world around him with sensory detail. She says, "We just passed the drum major's widow. She's worn his coat since the day he died. Careful. The horse's head on the butcher has lost an ear. That's the florist laughing and he has crinkly eyes. In the bakery window th...

Robbers In Bengaluru Pose As Tax Officers, Loot Crores From Cash Van

In a major daylight robbery in Bengaluru, a group of armed men posing as RBI officers intercepted an ATM cash-loading vehicle near the Ashoka Pillar and looted more than Rs 7 crores. The CMS cash van was transporting money from the JP Nagar branch of HDFC Bank when a Toyota Innova suddenly blocked its way. The occupants of Innova approached the CMS staff and claimed they were from the RBI and said that they needed to verify documents. Before the cash van staff could react, the suspects forcibly shifted them along with the cash into their Innova car. The gang then drove towards Dairy Circle, where they abandoned the CMS staff and fled with the money. Police said the van had Rs 7.11 crores. South Division Police have formed special teams and launched an intensive search to identify and arrest the culprits. Preliminary investigations indicate the involvement of a well-organised gang. The CMS cash van staff who were inside the Innova had delayed in informing the police about the incide...

iPhone Air Designer Abidur Chowdhury Leaves Apple For AI Startup: Report

Abidur Chowdhury, a key industrial designer behind the ultra-thin iPhone Air, has departed Apple to join an undisclosed artificial intelligence (AI) startup, Los Angeles Times reported. His departure adds to a series of high-profile exits from Apple's design division, which is currently undergoing a significant reorganisation. Chowdhury, who had been with Apple for over six years, gained prominence after being selected to present the iPhone Air's design in a video during the company's September launch event. Such a public-facing role is typically reserved for rising talents and key figures within the company's closely guarded design studio, and his exit has reportedly "made waves" internally. His exit is reportedly unrelated to the iPhone Air's sales performance, which has been below initial expectations. The specific AI startup Chowdhury has joined has not been publicly disclosed, and his LinkedIn profile still lists Apple as his employer. The iPhone...

Pipeline Damage Cripples Mumbai's CNG Supply, Restoration Expected Tomorrow

CNG pumps in Mumbai witnessed long queues for refuelling on Monday after a major gas pipeline was damaged, disrupting supply and affecting thousands of autorickshaws, taxis and other CNG-run vehicles. Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) said compressed natural gas supply to pumps in the financial capital will be restored by Tuesday noon. It also said nearly 60 per cent, or 225 of the 389 CNG pumps supplying gas to the megapolis, are operational. "Due to the stoppage of gas supply in CGS Wadala, and thereby the MGL pipeline network, a few CNG stations in Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai are not operational," MGL said in a statement, which came after reports of widespread inconvenience to people in the city. "The rectification work is in progress and the restoration of gas supply is expected by tomorrow, i.e. by 18th November 2025, noon," it added. Amit Shah Replies To Kerala MP In Malayalam Amid 'Hindi Imposition' Debate

For a party often accused in the south of pushing Hindi at the cost of regional languages, the Union Home Ministry's latest communication stood out. Amit Shah has replied to CPI(M) MP John Brittas in Malayalam, marking what is seen as the first instance of a Union Home Minister issuing an official response in the language. The gesture comes as Kerala moves into election mode and at a time when the BJP is working to expand its footprint in the state after winning its first ever Lok Sabha seat there in the 2024 general election. The choice of Malayalam also carries added weight because Brittas himself has been a persistent advocate for linguistic parity in parliament. He has earlier demanded translation devices for MPs who struggle with lengthy Hindi speeches during debates, arguing that true legislative participation requires equal linguistic access. Shah's reply dated November 14 formally acknowledged Brittas' detailed representation of October 22 on the notification tha...

Gambhir's Blunt Verdict On Batters After Disappointing Loss To SA: "Not Fair"

India's head coach Gautam Gambhir on Sunday backed Eden Gardens' under-fire curator while lamenting his batters' inability to "absorb pressure" and find a way to score runs on the challenging surface in the opening Test against South Africa. Proteas successfully defended 124 to humble India by 30 runs, having bowled the home team out for 93 in their second innings to wrap up the match under three days. The result continued the worrying trend of home reversals that has seen them lose four of their last six home Tests and nine of the 18 matches under Gambhir. "It was not an unplayable wicket, there were no demons," Gambhir said at the post-match media interaction. "If you are willing to put your head down and if you have a solid defense, if you have a temperament, you can definitely score runs," he said. The match saw 38 wickets (as Shubman Gill was retired hurt) fall in just eight sessions and out of them the pacers had a share of 16, while s...
